Formerly Cardigan's Customs House built in 1836, when Cardigan had its hey day as a busy sea port.

Custom House Shop and gallery on the ground floor has been trading for almost 30 years and the Custom House Apartment runs across the entire first floor of this historic building.

Custom House Apartment is a first floor apartment in the Centre of Cardigan Town yet is set above the hustle and bustle of this busy market town and close enough to many of Ceredigion's award winning beaches, businesses and local attractions.

Just Opposite we have the award winning Bakery 'Bara Menyn' and next door at no. 45, the newly expanded Welsh gin and whisky distillers 'In The Welsh Wind' .

Custom House is a grade 2 listed building with quirky historic interior and backs onto the historic and recently restored Cardigan Castle. The apartment has a raised first floor decked balcony with views over the ancient Castle walls.

Our area

Custom House Apartment is centrally located to access Cardigan's beautiful heritage and maritime coast. Pop on a gentle river boat only 500 yards from the apartment, view the vast river wildlife or choose a more exhilarating boat ride around Cardigan Island to see the resident population of bottlenose dolphins and seal colony nestling just below the cliffs at Gwbert.

Why Not take a hike from Cardigan town, heading north along the miles of 'Ceredigion Coast Path, or just take an evening stroll for a mile or so to Gwbert and the tidal estuary, ideal to see the fantastic sunsets across the spectacular Cardigan Bay and it's beautiful coastal landscape, or hike to the South and join the Pembrokeshire footpath heading along the rugged clifftops of Cemaes Head.

The 4CG Carpark is around 50 yards from the apartment. This carpark is along a lane adjacent to the apartment and is a short stay carpark, ideal for dropping off and getting settled, then a weekly ticket can be purchased for the lower 'Quay Street Carpark' at the river side.

Notes

The apartment is accessed at street level, up 2 slate steps then into a lobby area.

The lobby is shared by the well established gallery below the apartment.

The apartments front door opens to a long staircase of 22 steps.

The top landing leads straight into the large open plan lounge.
